Understanding done is not difficult to achieve.
It should not be thought of as a task.
Or a test to pass the last of one's patience.
Many miss the opportunity to comprehend.
With belief they are the only ones,
Wanting and wishing to be understood.
To disregard someone who listens.
And doing the listening without interfering.
Rare it is,
To have someone sit.
And not be asked,
How they feel about doing this.
Or have it perceived,
The doing of it is a top 5.
On one's top 10 list.

Few folks today show to display,
Consideration for others.
Especially if they have lived lives,
Blaming older siblings,
Made to watch their ungrateful backs.
Or made to do chores,
With a belief they've been attacked.
And noticeably absent,
Is a consideration that lacks concern.
For the one who earns tolerance and patience.
But expected to give to others,
Unwilling to hear and learn...
From the ones who were taught.
But those days do come when the teacher,
Has enough.
Leaving behind the ones refusing to understanding,
To figure it out themselves.
With this done not to give a damn.
Even one who teaches,
Knows when the time is right to be understood.
