Regarding Accolades... Poem by RIC BASTASA

Regarding Accolades...

when you do not have it yet,
you aspire for it naturally,
you rethink strategies, you
search for attention, to such
an extent you sacrifice what
you really need and want, just
to please, and get those praises,
but when you get them all,
under any protocol, or at the
expense of your authenticity,
when flowers abound in the garden
of your creations, when bees and
butterflies come and feast upon
you, you soon will realize that
it is simply crowding your
privacy, and at the end, it does
not really make you happy.

back to square one, you close
the garden, all praises are
ignores, no accolade is needed.
