Remember Me Poem by Asma Khan

Remember Me

Rating: 4.0

Let me burn the candle of your memories again
and watch my desires dancing in their shadows alive

Let me cover the wounds with your words of sorry again
and sooth them with ashes of my past with you

Let me cry again for it's been very long again
and begin to stitch the tears to my eyes one by one

Let me colour the skies of hope in black and grey again
and draw a rainbow of hopes flying by

Let me tell you what's gone never comes back again
and what remains reminds the black history of that

Let me find whoever has left me for you once again
and free them from the prison of my existence

Let me call the loneliness to wail with me after you again
and bury my sorrows in the graves of past forever

Let me do you a favour by walking away again
and let you live and rejoice of what is left of present

Let me summon the breeze to guard your doors again
and shower your pathways with fragrance and cheers

Let me bring down the rains to cool the fire again
and water the ruins with your departure's news

Let me astound the world with my loyalty and belief again
and live the dream your eyes once dreamt

Let me promise you that you won't see me again
and hold myself in the weakness of the moment

Let me put myself to the test again
and mark my strength under your name

Let me sleep the heart who sobbed on your name again
and quieten the child of wishes who saw you leaving

Let me come back and you leave me again
and forget me to relive the pains alone

Let me be you and you be with me again
and write all your pains under my name!
