Restart Poem by William Brooks

Restart

I see how much you don't care
And it tears at my heart.
I see you walking away
And it makes me want to restart.

I'm to blame.
It's my fault.
I promised you the world,
Now it's falling apart.

Please forgive me
I don't know how to take it all back.
I'm alone and isolated.
It feels like I'm having a heart attack.

I see your face twisted in agony,
As you lie and tell me everything is fine.
If only I could, I would accept it.
But I am connected to you so, that your pain is now own.

I see how much you don't care
And it tears at my heart.
I see you walking away
And it makes me want to restart.

I'm to blame.
It's my fault.
I promised you the world,
Now it's falling apart.

Listen to my words! Do you feel how they're real?
No matter what they say, I never lied.
No matter what they say, I always tried.
I can only hope that the truth of my words will help you heal.

I know I've lost your trust and you've no intention of letting me find it.
You caught me lying to your face, though you'd never admit it,
But for all I've done it was for the best.
I love you.. now it's time to go....

I tell you that what I say is true.
That when you go, I will go too.
For nothing in this world can compare
To the loneliness and dispare that consumes me when you're not here.

A life time is to short to show you how I feel,
So I wrote it down to stand the test of time.
In hopes that one day the truth of my words will help you heal.

I see how much you don't care
And it tears at my heart.
I see you walking away
And it makes me want to restart.

I'm to blame.
It's my fault.
I promised you the world,
Now it's falling apart.

So please, if nothing else tell me
You believe what I'm saying is true
So please, if nothing else tell me
That what we had was not just lust.

Except my apology, or throw it away if you must.
I hope that this decision will not be regreted.
Sorry for destroying what ever it was we had.
