My heart is lacerated
With a fear
That the love behind your eyes
Will find it impossible to survive.
I suspect God
Is rewinding a tape
Of all our past lives
And dreadful fates
In an endless cycle
Of reoccurring mistakes.
I wonder if,
In a previous lifetime,
I was your lover or best friend
For whom you could not depend?
I just don’t know
What I’ll do
If this happens again!

An absolutely original work - you do well to mix the concept of reincarnation with that of current habitual responses. Good to read, much material for pondering - a piece of wisdom, and a description of the human condition - uncertainty.
