Risking Their Lives Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Risking Their Lives

Truth suffers.
On both sides,
Of a divided...
Decisive stubbornness.
While distrust and corruption,
Takes humanity...
To the edge of an abyss.
As if to enjoy,
Those picked to lead...
Escort as if a sport,
A jumping into a canyon.
Dismissing the value,
Of a greatness to have had.
To delude a hitting rock bottom,
Delivers to them promises of properity.
An entitlement.
All risking their lives deserve to get!
