Road Less Travelled Poem by Sarrah Ibrahim

Road Less Travelled

Membership cards seem to run out everywhere I go
Fully booked
Sold out
I never get the memo

Don't wanna take the road less travelled no more
Too narrow
Enough for none but one
Shadow-free beings
Don't wanna be the one
One of those
Any of those

Getting out of my shell
My bullet vest
They say is the answer
Amid a battlefield
Price of acceptance
What a mercy-full bullet

A kite, a thread-less kite
Longs to fly
Fears getting lost
Caught on a tree
Instead, I hug the ground
I need to let go
Let it all go

Many ways to be brave
Smiling through the hurt
Seems to b my only
My long way home
No visible short cuts
Just abandoned dead-ends

Have got to teach my heart to toughen up
It ought to forget
& I must live
