Rocky The Owl Poem by Ima Ryma

Rocky The Owl

Rating: 5.0

She lived inside a tall spruce tree,
When one day her home was cut down,
A Christmas tree destined to be,
And trucked off to Big Apple town,
To Rockefeller Center where
This tiny saw whit owl was found,
Huddled inside of the tree there,
Her eyes staring out, big and round.
Humans rescued and cared for her.
She rehabilitated well.
And when she was healthy for sure,
Back to the wild where she'd best dwell.

Victim of loss of habitat,
"Rocky" became famous for that.

Human beings rescued and care for the owl. This poem reflects affection for animals. This is an excellent poem shared here.

A true story, Ima Ryma? I hadn't heard of this, but then I never read the newspaper and seldom watch TV. Anyway, your rhymes are good and you told the story well.
