As a tender loving child
On earth I set my foot
My toys were all wild
Mixed with filth, dirt and soot
Playing all day
Sleeping all night
Making everyone laugh
Blinking my azure eyes bright
Naughty and haughty
And very very doughty
But smiling and cheering
And shy and adhering
Funky and punky
Foul and chunky
Bossy but beautiful
Stunning and striking
I am a teen, alright!
With shaped, wrought eye brow
Make-up covered face
And boys behind me chase
Then I say ‘I do’
A vow never wanted
It’s like signing an agreement
To be ever haunted
I take my staff and walk
Shifting along the flow
Winding till my toe
But my head still high up
Merry on the bed
Bed-ridden? Yeah!
And silently I died
On a dry little Tuesday
