Rovin' Eye Poem by gershon hepner

Rovin' Eye

Dinah had an eye
that rovin’, sought to please
her appetite, that’s why
all men thought her a tease.
“I’ll lock her in a trunk, ”
said Jacob, hoping he
could keep her from the hunk
called Esau. She got free,
and found herself a man
who satisfied her soul,
ignoring her dad’s ban
while out of all control.
She was a livin’ doll,
and walked and talked, but cried
when she became the moll
of somebody who died
because he tried to please
a livin’ doll whose dad
let her grab hold of keys
and do what he forbade.
If you’ve got eyes like Dinah
that rove, stay in your trunk,
unless you’re even keener
on sex and getting drunk.

Inspired by a song sung by Cliff Richard, with lyrics by Hank Marvin, “Living Doll”.

Got myself a cryin', talkin', sleepin', walkin', livin' doll.
Gotta do my best to please her, just cos she's a livin' doll.
Got a rovin' eye and that is why she satisfies my soul.
Got the one and only walkin', talkin', livin' doll.
Take a look at her hair, it's real,
And if you don't believe what I say, just feel.
I'm gonna lock her up in a trunk, so no big hunk,
Can steal her away from me.

Got myself a cryin', talkin', sleepin', walkin', livin' doll.
Gotta do my best to please her, just cos she's a livin' doll.
Got a rovin' eye and that is why she satisfies my soul.
Got the one and only walkin', talkin', livin' doll.
