Runaway Imagination Poem by Katherine Perry

Runaway Imagination

From one extreme to another
Does my mind seldom rest
As through my thoughts i seem to discover
Could be anywhere from east to west

Being able to focus on one thing at a time
It is impossible for me to do
While being invaded by other things on my mind
Bringing solutions that are neither false nor true

Pondering on thoughts that are suggested to myself
Conjour up the what if scenerioes that could be
Feeding negative emotions to some things i have never felt
Even some that do not relate to me

What causes the mind to invent self-induced worries
How do questions arise from no source
If only we could catch on to these unnecessary thoughts early
Then we can refuse to let it run it's own course

Takeing charge of our thoughts and containing them to their boundries
Could save ourselves from an un-aware state of mind of intentional abuse
And keeping an attitude that is positive with our thoughts and surroundings
Will give us strength to not let a negative imagination run loose!
