Sabbatical Poem by nimal dunuhinga

Sabbatical

Rating: 5.0

The leave granted to a spinster university teacher
for her studies and travel.
She chose one of the students for accompanying
who was born blind and he carried his Braille.
They went to a safari park and she explained him
about the exotic wild animals, their color and nature.
When she held the saintly student's hand
she felt the charisma and saw his charming face.
The second day they traveled on a train to a remote village
where a smallholding runs by her far relative.
The old couple gave them lodging that particular night
and they slept together on a straw mattress.
This is the story of an unusual love begins
and who knows where it ends?

dedication to my poetess friend Mary.Nagy

enchanting to read these lines and to imagine their reality...who knows where it ends...with such an illustrious beginning?

Beautiful Nimal. The ending is great because it is not a conclusion. The language and the charactersof the story come over with a tenderness that you seem to maintain in your work.
