Satiety Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Satiety

Rating: 5.0

Satiety
- - - - - - - -
With every passing breath
Desiccated is my spirit and warmth
Once feeding on
Extolment and distinction
Now totally contented
With a few bites of food
The more nourishment I crave
The less I desire
Neither gold nor silver
Could lure me either
Nor hunger nor thirst
Could I care most
Hearts once happy now pine
Tongues once sweet now bitter even
Am I outliving my life?
That I look upon it with grief
I loath hearts that pine
I tire of all but swift oblivion
I was spun by Clotho
Carried on not knowing her motto
Reached the point of rosiness
Having faith in Lachesis and Atropos
And ingesting a sop to Cerberus
Lest I might fight the potential of menace
Now wish to be carried on
Upon the vehicle of Charon

Beautiful poem portrayed with mythological characters. Now wish to be carried on Upon the vehicle of Charon Still lot of time remains, to have a ride on vehicle of Charon. Beautiful presentation. Loved it.

Deepakji, quite a savory treat from the Greek mythology. The vehicle of Charon shall of course come to greet each individual but should we eagerly await it? Here I am reminded of Dylan Thomas poem ' Do not go gentle into that good night, ' which conveys an opposite sentiment. However, this poem is a brilliant work and a good food for thought....10

It is not yet time to feel that satiety and to be ferried by Charon to the other world! The thread of life still lies at length and don't wish it to be cut by Atropos! A powerful write with multiple references to mythological characters! Enjoyed!
