School Of Hard Knocks Poem by Dennis Field

School Of Hard Knocks

The University of Hard Knocks,
it is not for all,
some of us are big,
and some of us small,
the knocks we take when we grow,
make us better than we know,
for on that learning curve,
we do rise,
even if people criticize,
for on that day we graduate,
all the knockers will be in a state,
because they can never,
eat off my plate.
never been through what I have,
so do yourself a favour,
live your life,
not what others want you to do.
