Secret Poem by Ravenna Bell

Secret

Rating: 4.0

I cannot tell you
I love you wild
Worlds would crumble
At the release of those words
The sound somehow
Carry its weighty message
To other ears
Little ones would stumble
People pull away in
Disappointed disgust

I cannot tell you
What I ache for
Lie awake long
Into night's corridor
The shame would
Bury me alive

I cannot tell you
Why I tremble
When I meet your eyes
How fear grips me tight
In case love leaks
Out of my sight
And you see
The truth I hide
