Secrets Poem by Brent Rogers

Secrets

Tell me all your secrets and I will keep them well
Let it all come into me, let me feel your hell
You can trust me never to tell a soul
Tell me everything and it will make you whole

Sell your soul inadvertently, you'll never be the same
For what you do not realize is I will bring you shame
Knowing everything about you, I'll be quick to judge
All your weakness and insecurities, not with a little nudge

Power brings amazing feats to tower over all
I will simply walk away when you crash and fall
Ruined and destroyed from everyone else you know
Anxiety and self-loath will now never cease to grow

I will be the one always on your mind
In hate, love, and private thoughts, I won't be left behind
Consuming every inch of you, consider yourself owned
Those fields of gold you could almost touch, mercilessly postponed

To my astonishment, you freely succumbed to this
All you get for eagerness is your piece of mind dismiss
