Selfish Mistake Poem by John Demon Jones

Selfish Mistake

Selfish;
That was the word that came to her mind.
The word runs through her head.
Peace was all she wanted to find.
Now she chooses to be dead.
Then another word came to her mind...
Mistake;
A mistake to take her own life.
She only wanted to be loved.
Now she meant to end all the strife.
When I found her crying,
Lying in a pool of blood,
I also found her dying.
When her life left her,
I was holding her tight.
She was such a sad girl.
Forever filled with fright.
She had never considered the word that came to my mind...
Love;
I felt it for her every day.
My heart was filled pain.
I could fall into her beautiful eyes.
But now I have gone insane.
But now no person, no object, and my last goodbyes.
I cried out to heaven above.
A selfish mistake that ended my love.
