Sentimental Value For M 'Lady Tara

Rating: 5.0

A crystal vase reflects sunlight
but splits it up prismatically
Into stray beams of colours bright
which demonstrate the artistry.
Which can lie locked in inert glass.
Though beautiful in its own right.
It is enhanced when sunbeams pass
through emerging as coloured light.
A whole spectrum of colours play
across the china cabinet
highlighting teasets on display
in such a way you can forget.
They are completely valueless
as dancing colours irridesce.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Ivor, this is uncanny... I was looking for vases yesterday as someone rather wonderful gave me some incredibly beautiful flowers, the colourful array of which I had never seen before, and I came across a crystal one and, carrying it from the garage to the house, noted precisely what you say here... less poetically of course (I think I probably thought something like, 'that's nice') .... this is beautiful. (And that is absolutely spookily true!) t x
