Serpent Of Eden Poem by Grayson Peterson

Serpent Of Eden

O serpent of Eden,
Why dost thou tempt me?
Seduce me to lust,
To bite the apple of the tree,
To do what is unjust,
Thou enticed me with flesh,
And knowledge of gold,
But instead gave me hell,
To burn in flames, or freeze in cold,
Serpent, to you I was nothing but a tool,
To wage a war against good,
I did not know better, I was a fool,
If only at that time I understood,
Serpent, I renounce your schemes,
From your sins, I run away,
From your bounds, I am free,
The hands of the Holy keep thee at bay,
No longer do I embrace the dark,
The road of righteousness I do trod,
I will not accept your mark,
I am protected by the grace of God.
