Set Me Free Poem by karin collins

Set Me Free

Why can’t you
Just set me free
Go on with your life
And let me be?

I’m sick and tired
Of this silent game
Just get it over
I know I’m to blame.

But you should know
You did your share
You left me first
As if you care.

I’ll never know
The real reason why
You decided to marry
Then decided to lie.

If to punish me
Was your aim
You have succeeded
Now end the game.

I don’t have
Any more heart
To give to you
If we’re apart.

I’m broken down
My spirit torn
I’m so damn tired
I’m tattered and worn.

You obviously
Have made a life
That doesn’t include
Your children and wife.

So move ahead
And let me be
I’m begging you
To set me free.
