Shame For The Shameless Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Shame For The Shameless

On a freezing cold November morn
A child to a mother was born
its placenta just torn
and with nobody to depend on
except her mother to keep her warm
she wss tossed into a cheap plastic bag
and discarded like trash in her mothers scorn

Is a life so meaningless
is a life so low
that away a mother could throw
an innocent baby daughter
she would never know
into the freezing cold with a threat of snow
suffocating, freezing and unclothed

But God sent rescue for his little angel
in the form of a man
he was guided somehow
by the hand of providence
to a stray bag thron alongside a home
and he was startled to find a baby
left to die all alone
only the placenta left as evidence

By his fortunate deed
his call he did heed
the little girl will survive
and make it out alive
and this is a story
now both happy and sad
because the child was nothing to her mom
she will be loved and will grow to be strong

Each life is so precious
but some people are undeserving
and cheapen it for the rest
to discard an infant child
and leave it to die in distress
its sad and unnerving
an insult to those who try their best

I hope this mother is punished
to the n'th degree
to be so selfish and heartless
as to think she'd get away free
there should be shame for the shameless
and the mother should be despised
and chastized for the crime she devised
and committed in front of God's own eyes
