Shaming Is The Blame Claimed Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Shaming Is The Blame Claimed

Unbelievable it is to believe.
The many who remain, shocked and stunned.
By a madness to reject,
Reflects reality.
A reality not only seen.
But also lived to witness,
The effects of it.
And surrounds everyone.
Whether high on pretensions.
Or addressing impressions.
In the hopes,
Delusions kept offer escapes.

Endorsing to support,
Claims to blame this shame...
On others.
Others protesting a way of life,
Is heading towards...
The bottom of a dumpster.
A dumpster assigned,
To picked and selected...
Interior decorators.
Identified...
With skills that qualify them,
As experts to remove...
Those who object to the smell.
And the stench permitted.
To continue as is to exist!

'And...
You are who? '

-We represent,
Environmentalists!
Assigned to clean up,
Everything you...
Have come to us to do.-

'We can do it much better.
Cost effective.
And...
With less of a budget.
And besides...
Our expenses paid,
Have been spent.'

-On what?
Limousines?
Catering services?
Dressing to impress?
While living at manicured,
Gated addresses? -

'Who are you,
To question our abilities?
And our status,
That represents...
Our achievements.'

-We live here.
And request that you leave.
No longer do we need,
Your impressions to make...
To imitate,
The creating of a mess.
That lesson we have learned,
Too well.-

'And you are saying to us,
What? '

-Without us,
You would never have had...
Cookies to steal or to munch! -

'What sense does that make? '

-Only time will tell! -
