She Poem by Taylor Ingram

She

Rating: 5.0

She stops going to school,
She stops talking with friends,
Shes about to go over the edge,
One friend says its just a phase,
Another, says please stay.
‘Patience’ It gets better they say,
She runs to her room for a place to escape,
If you knew what she did at night while everyone is asleep,
You wouldn’t threaten her,
You wouldn’t pick on her,
You would say sorry.
Sorry for putting her through this.
You would say that you wish you knew,
But hey, if you had listened you would’ve known.

Just give it one more go honey,
Because you’re worth it,
You’re beautiful in every single way,
Dont listen to what they say.

She writes her ‘goodbye’ note over and over in her head,
Turn the light off,
Struggling to find the razor as she stumbles across the room,
Shes crying and sick of trying,
Her heart is breaking under the pressure,
But baby, just know that we are here for you,
Even in your darkest of times,
We’ll be here for you,
We’ll be here for you.

Everythings such a blur,
Her arms are shredded,
Been wearing a fake smile for quite a while now,
Don’t know what it feels like to be happy anymore,
Sadness is overtaking her whole body,
Shes too weak to get out of bed,
Blood stains the pillow,
You dont have to go through this anymore,
We can save you from this,
We won’t let you go,
Because baby we love you so,

Shivering, crying,
Wanting to be gone from this horrible place,
She doesn’t know how much shes loved,
Thinking that shes all alone,
Worthless,
Thinking no one will ever feel this way,
No one will ever go through this like i am,
They dont understand,
Getting hurt by everyone she’s ever known,
But come on, we can be one,
We can fight this,
We can fight them,
Those feelings,
Those bad habits,
Yeah we can fight.

What an intense poem, and even more so, the sad fact that young people today, often feel so very alone and invisible. I am glad your heartfelt write saved your friend. Words are indeed powerful...be them bitter or sweet...practice more kindness, my advice to the world... Well done and I wish you and your friend PEACE.
