She Suffers For What We Have Done Poem by Nkululeko Mdudu

She Suffers For What We Have Done

Rating: 5.0

The world is a fragile place;
One that leaves no room for cowardice and foolishness.
(With the poor and ignorant holding the former,
and the rich and mighty holding the latter)
Hear me now!
It has shown through time and trial
that reality is the most painful truth;
And I'm afraid It has held back Its Battallions long enough.
It seems that She, unlike all others; has had a soft spot for mankind;
Well, kind men and women are gone; those who remain are powerlss-
And now that same spot has turned into a blemmish on her uppercrust.
She lives in constant change and keeps a brittle ballance.
Was she ever prepared for what she has brought herselt?
Did she ever fully contemplate that this sinful
child of hers would a life-long miracle,
and a life-long curse?
Oh what could be worse?
Life without her has no meaning,
Yet we continue to suck her dry;
Tell me WHY!
All she nurtures and nourishes shall perish
by the hot blood of her busom.
