The barrel, both carry
For filling up from hither end
And discharge from thither end
Both are reloaded and reused
Direction bound in operation
In reverse, function defunct
Need hand to get going in action
Hardness, both command on
For effectiveness, differently though
Aiming, both do, not the same way
One, more along moral lines, when
Other acclaims physical chimes
Either may play for fun n’ joy
On the will of the user, as is deemed
Both are double faced, black ‘n white
Divine being one, evil is the other
In all, both need user skill
Unskilled use leads to mockery ‘n junk
Used by both wise as well as fool
Can the law overrule entire range?
One is inherently silent, when
The other is bound to make sound
Both function in interactive mode
One is on one to one basis, while
The other works with few to infinite
One has few fixed applications, and
The other’s domain measures countless
One can never command on, but
The other is live wire to, hearty love
Penetrability applies to both, but
Hard mode lays sluggish and is over run
Million times faster by softer one
Pen being one, lured by relations,
Values morals ethics and so forth
Gun on the other, reigns on might,
Conflicts, hatred, greed and the like
Both have their own SWOTs
Great comparison of weapons used in war. One cutting through hatred, greed, corruption from the nib of a pen, the other cutting down humanity with bullets. Which is the more humane? Which will do the most good at getting rid of evil? Is the pen mightier than the sword? Can we poets make a difference or change the tides of intolerance and evil? Only time will tell as we continue to write our poems while others continue to kill. Use words wisely, praying for an end to the evil in our world. Excellent rhetoric depicting today's world and asking questions that need answers now. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
Used by both wise as well as fool Can the law overrule entire range? One is inherently silent, when The other is bound to make sound Beautiful comparison between the pen and the rifle.... both mighty weapons! Which is mightier is the only question! If rifle can cause a rebellion in the physical world, the other causes revolution in the mental realm!

I would like to translate this poem
Both pen and gun are tools capable of discharging irrepairable damage. That said at the end of the day they are just tools. Like all the evil in this world they are man made. It is unlikely that the gun can be used as a force for good but the pen certainly can. The problem is the man in control. This poem is written with sound reasoning. A most enjoyable read, another of your writings to focus the mind. Well done.
Thanks very much Jak, for your encouraging comment.
