Sighs Of The Heart Poem by Kavya S Babu

Sighs Of The Heart

Me and me in conversation
Found, at last,
Nothing belonged to us.
Our love for each other
Is the only elixir of our lives.
From checkmate to checkmate,
Ended up, our face to face trials.

Dear me,
My love for you is boundless...
For I know, you are
My only eternal companion.
You' ll be there
For my rescue, always,
I know.

Only you
Know the story I lived,
the slaps I survived.

The colours of my days
Were your charm's bounty.
Repelling at times, life seemed,
For each other enough,
We failed to know.
Life's blinding colours:
It gave me flowers.
It gave me dreams.
Then all on a sudden,
faded away.

Only you,
know my ideals.
How me and my books
dreamed and lost together.
Turning the last flap,
how desperately
we bid adieu.
How centuries old verses
healed my veiled wounds.
How me and my pen
Set forth secretly,
On overnight cruises.
How cravingly I wish
to live the life of my dreams.

Yes, I know
the fortunes and blessings;
limitless, I have.
But still I cook up things
to regret on.

Only you
Know how genuinely
I long,
To fix the broken ties.
How failingly I tried
Not to get fooled.
How painfully I realized
It was just a mirage.
Only you
Know how frequently
I polished my boldness
And how destructively
it broke into pieces.
Only you
Know how beautifully
I admire your self
And how emotionally
I realize, incapable,
I am, of being you.

The new dawns may unwrap
A better you
And am waiting hopefully
to try to be you.
