Sign Of Winter Approaching Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Sign Of Winter Approaching

With a little fanfare
That approached from the Northeast
A flock of lowflying Canadian Geese
Soon appeared just over the white oak treeline
And headed toward Texas
As best I could determine
Their persistant honking seemed synchopated
With the flapping of their wings
And soon they spanned the lake
Dissappearing over the ridge of pine
Sure sign
That Winter is not far behind them
Better get my painting done!
