Silhouette Poem by Jayatissa K. Liyanage

Silhouette

Rating: 5.0

In rage, red hot fireball
On the skyline ablaze
Emits its rays, charring up
every thing caught, to charcoal
adding to night, thick ‘n black

Lest I get burned up, red hot
sought cover behind you, cold
Rays piercing, rough 'n through
palms, trees, huts by shore
seemed, you, stand penetration

Cold you, I get cover behind
while standing thick and high
talking to fireball, red hot
with your eyeballs, blue and cold

Let me be covered behind you
your naked looking figure, cold
until we both are devoured
by the black night's thickness

Delightful poem makes me think of hot summer days scorched by the sun and cool nights under moonlight skies.
