Silhouette Poem by Mark Heathcote

Silhouette

A moonlit silhouette has me wanting to take the plunge.
Here I want to swim the distance.
Here I want to drown completely.
Here I want to strip down and bear my soul, lose myself,
And be eclipsed, only later to be found more whole.
Than I ever was before?
Here, I want to bathe in the starlight of our goodbyes.
And find a togetherness that has me glued-
To every glint in your blue opalescent eyes.
Here, I want to dine al fresco and devour
Every morsel part of you by touch and taste alone.
Only to linger home, thirst and hunger abated,
Wanting more than could ever be given.
Oh, and yet, how deliciously fulfilled!
