SIMPLE PLEASURES
Ah the simple pleasures of being alive
The most unnoticed things that help us thrive
The sound of running tap and doorbell that rings
The tinkering of chimes and birds that sing
The dawn accompanied with aroma of tea
The playful day light from under the shades that peak
The gentle flow of the breath of family around
Making me realize am not alone love surrounds
That bang of the newspaper tossed outside
Milk packets in a row carefully perched besides
All signs that life is moving afresh
After a night of rest everything is refreshed
The jingle of keys as the car wash guy comes
I can see some particles dancing as in streams the sun
There is complete hustle bustle as each one gets ready
The orchestra in the kitchen or a bathroom singer singing steady
These voices, these noises are music to me
For I realize it's a new day it's beauty I see
As I leave home I see so many faces around
Smiling, nodding greetings oh these familiar sounds
Somewhere near by the sparrows chirp with glee
I know like I know it, a lovely day it shall be
Ah the simple pleasures of being alive
These unnoticed things that help us to thrive
