Simple Sentences Poem by Shalom Freedman

Simple Sentences

Rating: 5.0

The world is cold and damp
The clouds grey and black
A slight drizzle threatens a torrent
There is a freshness in every breath
I walk toward the warmth of home
I look
There is so much beauty to see
I do not know what to focus upon
Still here after all these years
Still able to walk
I thank God again
And wonder as I look
Why I have been given so much
And why I will lose it all
One day too soon.
And wonder why
Simple sentences
Which describe what I see and feel
Should bring me
So much joy.
