Singled Poem by Veeraiyah Subbulakshmi

Singled

Rating: 5.0

Hands are full, when left alone to care,
As the duties call them to the fighting fare,
To the oil rigs and to the distant blooms,
Responsibilities rest on these petite shoulders,
Apart from the own career, two's work,
As the father and the mother, one becomes,
Thought of inevitable along with fear and tears,
Children act differently in front of their fathers,
Mothers are their toys to play the emotion with,
Married, but singled as their fathers at work,
The Female friends keep comfortable distance,
The male friends may come closer for attendance,
as the dirty flies smell the sweet jack fruits,
As the clumsy full moon gains attention,
These women are so bright under clear vision,
But they stand erect with their respect intact,
Treasuring the welfare of the family in every breath,
These women are the pillars for universal brotherhood.
