Sins Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

Sins

Why have you gone against me my love?
And, why have you come to bring my sins to remembrance?
For the jar of your flour shall not be used up nor,
Shall the jug of your oil dry out!
Because i will always love you from my heart,
So bring me a cup of water so that i may drink from you.

Send down the rain to water my garden oh heavens!
For my sins are well known by you all in this land;
And i am walking along peacefully to adjust to time,
For the jar of my lover now at rest beside me.
