Smiley The Pink Toothbrush Poem by Pamela lutwyche

Smiley The Pink Toothbrush

Monday morning

Smiley, the four month old pink toothbrush, lives in Miss Pea's bathroom. Miss Pea has a lovely set of teeth and this is all due to Smiley. When Miss Pea cleans her teeth, she always looks in the mirror while doing them and Smiley can see herself in the mirror too. Smiley loves to look at herself and thinks she is quite pretty. She is a pink toothbrush, with white bristles and when miss pea puts the toothpaste on smiley'sbristles it's all tingly and foams, when miss pea brushes her teeth. Miss Pea tells Smiley what a good job she is doing every day and after she has finished, she looks in the mirror and clenches her teeth, she smiles and always laughs. This makes smiley feel really good.

Monday afternoon

Even though smiley loves to clean miss pea's teeth, she reallywants to clean more than just one set of teeth, because this is her dream. She makes up her mind this will be the day to do more teeth, so, she waits for the dog. When the dog passes by the bathroom.
Smiley 'thinks right this is it, the moment as finally arrived '.
She pounces on the dog and before the dog knows what has hit him, Smiley has cleaned the dogs teeth. The dog, now has lovely teeth and goes and sits in his bed feeling extremely good, with his teeth being so clean.

Monday night

Granddad, who lives with Miss Pea, keeps his false teeth in a glass of water by the side of the bed when hegoes tosleep.Smiley knows this and waits for granddad to fall asleep, as soon has he has fallen asleep, she jumps into the glass and cleans Granddad's teeth. She gives them a very good clean and they sparkle in the glass when she has finished.
Smiley ' thinks I can do more and I will do more'!
She looks around to see which other teeth need to be cleaned.
Hanging on the wall are picture'sof people smiling and showing their teeth. 'Heaven, thinks' Smiley.
She jumps on the pictures and cleans their teeth. Smiley goes back to the bathroom and waits to be used again by Miss Pea.

Tuesday morning

Miss Pea goes to the bathroom to clean her teeth. She picks up Smiley and starts to clean them.
‘Yak, ' says Miss Pea out loud,
there is a nasty taste in her mouth.
"Time for a new toothbrush" she says with a cough.
So, Miss Pea throws Smiley outside in the dustbin, but, she does not put the lid back on properly.
Smiley climbs out of the bin and she goes and hides in the bushes.

Tuesday afternoon

She waits there for anything with a set of teeth to come in to the garden. A little time passes.A squirrelcomes into the garden. Smiley creeps up from behind the squirreland makes the squirrel jump, the squirrel turns around and sees Smiley. The squirrel snarls, bearing his teeth, this is Smileys chance. She jumps on the squirrel's teeth and cleans them and then she runs back into the bushes. Mr squirrelis stunned, but his teeth really do feel nice and clean. Mr squirrelruns his tongue over his teeth.
"I like the feel of my teeth" he uttered.
Mr squirrellooks for Smiley, but, of course, Smiley is hiding, so Mr squirrelleaves the garden with a big white set of teeth.

Tuesday night

A little later, just as the sun was going down a fox visits the garden. Smiley is watching him walking along the path. The foxwalkes on to the grass and sniffs around.Smiley is now behind him and she touches his tail. The fox turns around, that's Smileys opportunity. She jumps on the fox's teeth and starts to clean them. The fox is dazed and confusedat first, but then catches Smiley.
"What are you doing with my teeth? " he yelledin a very angry voice.
"I am only cleaning them for you. " WhisperedSmiley.
"WELLDON'T "snarled, the fox, "I do not like it. Just a minute, I do, I do like it, and my teeth feel lovely."
He walked off a very happy fox indeed, with a set of pearly white teeth. Smiley goes under the lamplight by the fish pond and waits until morning anddreamsof cleaning teeth.

The Fox returns to the garden, he sees Smiley and the squirrel talking. He comes up to Smiley and asked if she would clean his teeth again?
"My teeth feltvery nice indeed when you cleaned them yesterday."
"Yes I will, any time." Smiley laughedwith a great, big, smiling, grin.
The garden now, as lots of animals who visit and they allhave very clean teeth, indeed.
