Solace, Please Show Me Paradise Poem by James Darwin Smith II

Solace, Please Show Me Paradise

Seeking solace
In the cozy confines
Of security
No worries
Just roaming freely

To be able to
Transcend myself
Every which where
Smiling at ease
Taking in
Every beautiful moment
Instead of any sorrow
Only joy
Capturing the essence
Of these shadowy eyes

Reality and its many wars
Forced to watch its doomsday derive
From greed, to narcissism and hate
Three things people use
To step on each other's heads
Trying hard to stay on top of life

But here I am
Hiding, abiding
Inside this fate cocoon
Searching for something
To ignite this fire deep inside

Judge me,
Without knowing
The entire story of my life
Looking down any sorrow
As a lesser upon your
Self-acclaimed very high

I went all out
Believe you me, I tried

After all, there are things
That may be too easy for the many
Yet, too hard for the few
Who knows, perhaps me?

Never claimed to an expert
Of anything that pertains to life
Just trying to dig deep

Coming from the inside
And all the miles
Of its peaceful confines
Trying to adapt to extrovert ion
While trying
To always stay true to myself

Seeking solace
Of self, of this life
Searching for a whole new start
Of something different
That shall bring brand new air
To these shallow redundant breathes of time

Never underestimate me
I am just fine

In the end of it all
Solace shall be my true divine

Looking for my own utopia of self
Searching long and hard
For my own internal paradise

I have to keep trying
Finding the meaning of this life

To seek solace
Yet, out of this comfort
And on to a new start
My true ambitions
They shall finally be rectified
As I search for a much better life

I have my health, I am alive
Searching for the spark
Of fire
Transcending me beyond
The past,
And into a future
Beyond my own wildest of dreams

There has to be some purpose to this life

Wings of solace
Fly me into the great beyond
Where true beauty and wonder reside
Of my own personal endless paradise

There is so much more to it
Than life

Paradise, teach me to fly
While dealing with the outside
World so different than mine

Take me away

At the same time
Let me stay

I need directions
To something anew

Solace, Will you be my guide?
