Something In Mind Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

entered the worship place with something in mind
I was restless at heart and wanted more to find
It was not for any favor, wealth or material gain
But something was really hurting me with pain

I found myself at the distant shore
Where I felt nobody had tried to explore
I had too not thought about it before
Was I really in quest for asking more?

No, the world had me totally disillusioned
Everywhere I was hunted and needlessly questioned
I wanted an answer for it and to be mentioned
Was it my fault to be here on this lovely earth to be stationed?

I found nothing wrong with mother earth
Ample opportunity provided for meeting with death
Body to rest with ceremony of laying wreath
That was totally in conformity with faith

How many souls visit earth with beautiful body?
Breathe freely and roll on as if business of nobody
No one bothers to know what for we are!
Watch the entire scene by sitting very far

I found no answer despite putting lots of prayers
I planned to visit and take advice of sooth Sayers
As I was passing through different type of confusion layers
I had feeling of lone identity thrust upon as player

I could see labors toiling in hot sun
Playing their part with no unpleasant run
They knew it is do or die game in life
What is use of putting neck on the edge of knife?

I had enough of everything to spend with pleasure
After all there is no yardstick to apply and measure
If little thing can grant you happiness and satisfaction
Life must be shining with example and indication

We have nothing on hand after arrival
It is mere show of existence with rehearsal
Either we develop self contentment and enjoy
Or lead the life with deception and decoy

I wondered at the regular function of divine objects
They were never faltering or delaying in their acts
Sun and moon appeared at their destined time
Why we normal people with uncertainty think more sometimes?

I thought over it several times and retuned
The table was now on me to be turned
All other places are not for providing the solution
We are the master and can be in control with resolutions

Why worry about things not known to us?
Why not leave it to fate and simply trust?
Work hard for return of no favor or outcome?
Just think of good and whole heartedly welcome
