Sometimes Poem by William Baez

Sometimes

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes I need your smile,
but I like it when you cry.

It reminds me of us, of then.
And the moment's joy gone in a sigh.

Most days I love it when the smile fades from your face.
Sometimes I smile when yours leaves.
But it seems to me my tears are more frequent.
As if my punishment goes unrelieved.

But all the time I can say you are there.
In everything and anything I think of.
Even though I see you less and less,
the feeling abides and its perpetuity remains in love.

Sometimes, I smile when I don't think of you.
When I can't feel you, or touch you my smile returns.
But there's a feeling of joy mixed with sadness,
At the thought that my life with you adjourns.
