Song - I'm On My Own Mission Poem by Allen Steble The Philosophical Poet

Song - I'm On My Own Mission

Rating: 5.0

So you think that you know me
And you think you control me
You think that I'm crazy
If I don't accept your ways
Even when I tell you
It's a waste of my days!
(Whispered) I won't have it

I'm on my own mission
I don't need your permission
I'll live my days as I please
I won't beg down on my knees
For the scraps that you give me
That leave me hungry

You lay out your contract
To sign with my blood
Now I'm caged in this pact
Sinking in corporate mud
I'm just a puppet on strings
Led by the will of the kings
(Whispered) I won't have it!

Cause'
I'm on my own mission
I don't need your permission
I'll live my days as I please
I won't beg down on my knees
For the scraps that you give me
That leave me hungry

I'm just a pawn in your game
So you can move me at will
Into the path of blame
When it all goes downhill
I won't stay trapped in these walls
I won't take it anymore
(Whispered) I won't have it!

Cause'
I'm on my own mission
I don't need your permission
I'll live my days as I please
I won't beg down on my knees
For the scraps that you give me
That leave me hungry

They leave me so hungry!
