Sonnet: A Bad Man Can’t Undo A Good Man’s Work Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: A Bad Man Can’t Undo A Good Man’s Work

An evil-minded man cannot erase
The good work done by his predecessor;
He cannot shake the foundation/ strong base
Or slur his good name, make it much lesser.

By nature, if you are a person bad,
And will not change for good, despite advice,
And you remained thus ever since a lad –
God’s wrath and rod will sooner come for vice.

A good man leaves a legacy of good;
The world will miss the void for long a time;
Bad man will vanish like a fallen bud;
His achievements will not be worth a dime!

An evil heart cannot earn good a fame
By maligning a good man or his name.

A good man leaves legacy of good while a bad man will vanish like a fallen bud. Very true. Nice poem.
