Sonnet: Man’s Battle On Earth! Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Man’s Battle On Earth!

From birth, I know that man can easily sin;
The Tempter tempts all life incessantly;
At times, man succumbs or may try to win;
All life, he fights a battle endlessly.

The Holy Spirit guides him through travail;
The Love of God brings forgiveness of sins;
The devils lie and try to use blackmail;
Man’s Angel Guardian helps him till he wins.

Man made from dust returns to it at death;
The soul will not perish as body does;
To sin is man’s innate nature from birth;
Adam and Eve’s sin brought on him this curse!

When born on earth, man learns (although he sins) ,
To fight the Evil One, until he wins.
