Sooner Or Later Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Sooner Or Later

Sooner or later unconscious people discover,
They should not decide to pick others.
To use with a boosting themselves up.
With lies to tell for an attention to get.
And this to intend.
Since this to do does not go over too well.
As time comes around for them to pay.
And seldom does anyone pay the consequences.
With joyful benefits from them received.
Nor are the dividends invested in,
The getting of interest one expects.
As others take away one's credibility.
And...
Sooner or later.
When this to them happens.
A vanishing of their integrity also leaves.
As if truth came to rob them of it.
Like an unmasked bandit.
No one sees but is left to believe,
Had its own reason, purpose and agenda.
