Spare Me Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Spare Me

Rating: 5.0

No, she is unwanted and not welcome
Do away with her so she doesn't come,
Worries may be more if she takes birth in home
Better terminate the pregnancy and have the chance for free roam

This is the situation that prevails at the time of baby child's birth
She is unwanted in family as awaits no love and warmth
We discriminate between new born and have narrow views
Do the parents really need some education and reviews?

Was I not borne out of love and affection?
Were they not eagerly awaiting and had so many expectations?
I was luckiest child t be borne come out
I heard the conversation in womb and talk about

I used to hear bird's beautiful song,
When we used to go for walk along,
All lovely talks while watching beautiful pair
I was breathing in place which was not supposed to be wrong

Does the termination of child birth not amount to murder?
It is executed skillfully without any wonder?
Sky may witness silently and not fall with thunder
What would I do except to cry above the sky and soil under?

Will it be in womb premature death?
No new world for me and fresh breath
Was this the vow taken by parents under oath?
Running away from reality or compromising on both?

Can you listen and pay attention to my simple words?
Is there no safe place for me in this world?
Do you desire our untimely demise?
What will happen to your early promises?

It is sheer nonsense to behave in isolated manner
How does it help to make the population thinner?
It is simply a lame excuse to do away with pregnancy?
Baby or no baby it has nothing to do with relevancy

HE is there to see you all?
What will you reply when you receive his call?
You may have rise and fall
Don't create hatred in heart as strong wall,

We are like beautiful flowers in the garden
Different in colors with fragrance but not a burden
Tree also bends when fruits are laden
You are the only one rejecting the heaven

Your are the creator but not the CREATOR
You may be called my originator
Does the love and affection need any translator?
You be your own judge and regulator

World will not end if you don't allow the babies boom
God will not like it and descend the gloom
It will be too late to find answer in room
Find happiness when you find the time with groom

In many parts of the world it is still the practice
We land no ears and take no notice
It may still go on unabated
If question is not addressed and remain unrelated

Beyond all boundaries … sheer Humaneness … ‘…Your are the creator but not the CREATOR…’ Just changing the ‘creator’ to ‘CREATOR’ ... buoyancy in … spiritual boom and boon…with never ending calorie for contemplation… 10++ Ms. Nivedita UK
