Spirit Poem by Harlan Simantel

Spirit

I know it's there,
A life beyond here,
Life as spirit,
Life without fear.

Those who have died
Left their shells behind.
Their essence lives on,
Flesh dead and gone.

Ministering spirits,
Consoling souls,
Aware of us
In their new-fashioned roles.
