Spiritual Revival Poem by Tony Elsby (Poems of life and love)

Spiritual Revival

Would that I could walk with you,
Along some distant seashore,
Leaving only footprints
To mark our passing
How our spirits would soar,
With the greeting of a new and spectacular sunrise,
The rays of which would shine,
Only on what is vital,
To the health of our core being,
Leaving us to step over the debris of negativity,
That has for too long anchored our lives,
And so limited the flow of nutrients,
Necessary to inspire us,
In seeking knowledge, attainment, fulfillment,
And love in its many and varied forms.
In so doing I would gently take your hand
And have you feel the flow of energy within my being
That has come with being elevated,
Into a state of ecstatic wellbeing,
Of renewed desire,
Of long forgotten self-worth, inventiveness and creativity,
Because it is you my friend,
Who has re-opened my soul and revived my inner being,
You, to whom I am grateful and indebted beyond simple words,
You who has proferred the friendly flame
To re-ignite my life so fiercely,
You who has prompted these words and so much more,
You who have effected things beyond expectation,
And how would I return those gifts were the way possible,
By looking into your eyes,
And letting you see in them the vision of your worth,
Letting you feel the stirrings you have prompted,
And I would take your lips,
And kiss them so softly,
To mirror the tender feelings in my heart,
So that you too should feel the joy that you've conveyed,
And the same certainty,
That you are loved.
And will always be loved,
Not just by me,
But by those who open their eyes,
To savour your friendship,
And who, in baring their soul,
Experience your capacity for giving,
And the privilege of drinking,
From your sweet and sustaining goodness.
