Staged Symbolic Images Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Staged Symbolic Images

Staged symbolic images.
Have had their time and place.
Yet kept to keep them,
Away from dust to rust...
Has taken a fast and swift pace.
To update them and replace.

These days the staging,
Of images to symbolize.
And idolize them.
Has begun to lose priority.
For those seeking substance.
More identifiable that qualifies,
A more meaningful way...
To live their daily lives effectively.
Less to worship and glorify.
What today,
Can not be applied,
As appetizing to their satisfaction.

Advancing technology.
And the seconds it takes,
To delete and erase yesterday's beliefs.
Is not fiction.

Advancing technology.
And the use of it to escape...
To explore and adventure,
Places around the World and the Universe.
Has a way to have anyone experience,
What it is they wish to want.
Done without,
Greeting to shake a hand.
Or looking into the eyes of anyone's face.

Staged symbolic images.
For what they were in the past,
Have exhausted their purpose.
No matter who craves them to stay revisited.
With wishes to forever to keep them valued.
Are from us to have gone.
And there is nothing wrong,
To display our respect.
However...
Expecting them to repeatedly renovate.
Does not move a foot forward.
Or can be validated as progress made!
