Stars Poem by Alexander Thomas

Stars

What do we see in the stars?
Our birth to the last breath?
The breadth of life and beyond death?
Between those oceans of time we see ourselves,
Into the depths the mind delves,
We can reach for more than we are,
Fixed on that shimmering light from afar,
Through mysterious cloaks specks of wisdom peek,
Promising the truth that we seek,
Spirit rises to meet the phantom sight,
That clasps our being into the wonder of the night,
There is no measure of darkness, only light,
The light that draws us, that pulls the soul from body into flight,
To ascend into heavens sparkling, eternal and bright.
