Statesmen? Poem by Ima Ryma

Where have all the statesmen gone is
A question often asked today.
Leaders compete in power biz,
And our state's in a bad way.
United Nations - that's a joke.
It's just a fancy address where
Words are spewed forth by show off folk.
Who can spew out the most hot air?
Pretending statesmen state their lies
To make their power all the more.
Underneath the 'make peace' disguise
Is the macho truth to make war.

The world's in a bad state indeed.
Maybe more stateswomen we need!
