Step after step
Breath after breath
My heart starts to pound faster rate
I am anticipating the upcoming event
I am running towards my fate
Step after step
Breath after breath
In my calmed mind I revel at my speed
My legs going faster than ever before
My arms pumping with greater need
Step after step
Breath after breath
The crowd flees from the man with an explosive vest
He is my final destination
The gun points towards my unprotected chest
Step after step
Breath after breath
I close my eyes and know that I will be dead
As we fall to the ground there is a gunshot
I touch my chest and my hand comes back red
Step after step
Breath after breath
My eyes flutter shut and I fall down below
I see that I saved a lot of people in the train station that day
But now all I see is a light to follow
