Still Standing There Poem by Ryann Blair

Still Standing There

Rating: 4.0

I was still standing there.
After you stole my heart, and no sooner broke it apart.
After you treated me so badly. Discarded, all alone weeping so sadly.
I was still standing there.
After you betrayed my trust, abandoned and deserted me in the dust.
I told I was falling in love with you…
You promised that this time it all be different, you’d stay true.
There I was, still standing there.
My world came crashing down as my heart you shattered. My feeling and emotions began to boil and batter.
Just as I was beginning let go of all that pain you caused in my past. There you were begging and pleading how you just want us to last.
You always knew when to come back around. Of course, to forgiving and our relationship we once again found.
Again, I was still standing there…
But this time things just weren’t the same. See I had learned to play well at your game.
At last I’ve come to see! Come on now, look at me.
I have finally learned. Look my new position, it has turned!
...I’m not standing there...
