Still Unknown Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Still Unknown

“Who shall look after us? ”
We shall definitely miss
The woe was expressed by bereaved family
The brave police officer was martyred in the country

The terrorists attacked police station
In minutes after, the brave officers was shot down
Many more fell to bullets
And met the fate

We remember the criminals
We also know their exact arrival
On our holy land by sea routes
But we don’t know about martyrs who met the ill fate

The public memory is short
They easily forget
The sacrifice made by gallant officers
We are helpless watchers

We, the people, must understand
It is our duty to protect holy land too
It should not be left to Government alone
Or security forces who always laid down lives

For cyclone or earthquakes the government is responsible
For excessive rain, the official machinery is blamed by people
For suicide or attempt, the entire responsibility is passed on
We want everything free from more rainfall or draught caused by seasons
